Lufthansa Group announced plans to eliminate 4,000 jobs by 2030 while boosting artificial intelligence , digitalization and consolidating work among member airlines on Monday (September 29) in a statement obtained by the New York Post .

The majority of the positions cut will be administrative jobs in Germany, rather than operational roles, according to the company. Lufthansa, which is Germany's biggest airline, claimed it was focused on the integration among member airlines and was "reviewing which activities will be no longer necessary int he future, for instance due to duplication of work."
