MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A man turned himself in after being accused of a hate crime two weeks ago on Madison’s near east side, the city’s police department reported Monday morning.
MPD said it received a report of a man making disturbing comments toward people after noon on Monday, Sept. 15, in the 100 block of Dunning Street. MPD spoke to the victim and investigated the incident.
WMTV spoke with Kat Rhapsody earlier this month, who caught the incident on camera in Madison’s Atwood neighborhood.
Rhapsody identifies as transgender and uses they/them pronouns.
Rhapsody said they were taking out the trash when a man they did not know started shouting slurs.
Rhapsody said the man made an illegal U-turn, then headed back toward their house. In the video, the man continued shouting slurs at
