The Hillshire Brands Company is recalling 58 million pounds of frozen corn dogs and sausages on a stick after several people were injured by wood embedded in the batter, federal officials said.
Hillshire Brands, a subsidiary of Tyson Foods, announced on Sept. 27 the recall of more than two dozen State Fair and Jimmy Dean products packaged between March 17 and Sept. 26 of this year.
They were sold across the United States, according to the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service .
Officials urged people not to eat the affected food products and either throw them away or return them to the grocery store.
