Houses were damaged, several Garba pandals set up on open grounds collapsed even as crop loss was reported across Valsad and Navsari districts after heavy rains accompanied by high-speed winds continued to lash several parts of Gujarat on Wednesday. Both district collectors have set up teams to assess the damage.

As per initial reports, at least 1500 houses in Navsari district were either completely or partially damaged, said the officials. The districts saw some relief on Monday with the rain reducing in intensity.

Navsari District Collector Kshipra Agre told The Indian Express , “There was no warning of heavy rainfall with high-speed winds. We have set up teams to assess the damage caused in multiple talukas and villages across the district”.
