To streamline the development works of Cities, Punjab Vidhan Sabha on Monday passed The Punjab Town Improvement Act, 1922.

Presenting the bill, the Punjab Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh said that the motive of this bill to enable the urban local bodies of the State to utilize funds available with the Improvement Trusts.

The Minister said that the Bill aimed at upgrading municipal infrastructure and improving management of civic services for residents of municipal towns in the State through optimal utilization of resourced of Improvement Trusts.
