Leader Jim Dinn says that if elected, he will double the first-time homebuyers grant to $3,000, citing a housing affordability crisis for people entering the market.
The program would cost over $500-thousand per year and would be capped to households with a combined income of $95-thousand or less.
“I think the issue comes down to, in large part, capacity and people are taking advantage of the situation,” he said when asked by VOCM News.
“It’s amazing the number of houses that are now rental units.”
Liberal Leader John Hogan will make an announcement later today while the PC’s are in Pasadena meeting with supporters.
