COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Firefighters in Colorado Springs came to the rescue of a deer trapped in an iron rod fence over the weekend.

A resident called to report the trapped deer and firefighters from Colorado Springs Fire Department, Truck 4 responded. Firefighters were able to pry one of the rods open to free the deer. As they worked, the deer’s companion stood nearby waiting for its friend to be freed.

"The deer’s loyal friend never left its side, waiting patiently until both could run free together," the Colorado Springs Fire Department wrote on X.

Once free, both deer ran off.
