The New England Patriots won’t have to deal with the Giants’ best player when they host New York later this season.
An MRI confirmed that star receiver Malik Nabers suffered a season-ending ACL tear during Sunday’s home win over the Los Angeles Chargers, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday. Nabers caught 18 balls for 271 yards and two touchdowns this season, including two catches for 20 yards on Sunday, before suffering the injury
Nabers’ 127 catches since the start of last season are the second-most by any player in their first 20 games, per Schefter.
The Patriots will host the Giants on Dec. 1 for the Week 13 edition of “Monday Night Football.”
And while we have no idea what both teams will look like by then, not having to cover Nabers undoubtedly will work in New England’s favor.
