A vessel sailing near the Gulf of Aden caught fire after being struck by what is believed to be a missile, according to the British military.
Yemeni local media reported that the missile, suspected to be ballistic, was launched from territory controlled by the Houthi group, which is backed by Iran.
“A vessel has been hit by an unknown projectile. The vessel is reported to be on fire," AP quoted the UKMTO as saying.
Soon after the incident, a ship sailing in the Gulf of Aden, around 235 kilometres (150 miles) off the coast of Aden, reported witnessing “a splash and smoke" in the distance, according to the British military’s United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) centre.
The UKMTO called it an attack and advised vessels in the region to remain cautious, a warning that was also
