ROUND LAKE — The has been awarded nearly 295,500 in federal funding to purchase 33 new self-contained breathing apparatus units.

“This grant provides our firefighters with life-saving equipment that we could not otherwise afford through our small tax base,” said Ed Cameron, chief of the volunteer department. “The new SCBAs replace outdated gear and ensure our members can safely and effectively respond to emergencies. This directly enhances both firefighter safety and community protection while reducing the financial burden on Round Lake taxpayers.”
