PATHANAMTHITTA: The Travancore Devaswom Board has decided to reinstall the gold plating on the Dwarapalaka sculptures in front of the Sabarimala sanctum. The reinstallation will take place on October 17. The decision was made after receiving approval from the High Court as well as the Tantri (chief priest).

Under the supervision of the Travancore Devaswom Commissioner, the gold-plated panels were earlier removed, fully video-documented, and sent to a Chennai-based firm for repair. After the restoration work, the panels were brought back to Sannidhanam and are currently kept in the temple strongroom.
