Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu inaugurated the Udaan Yatri Café at Vijayawada Airport, continuing the expansion of this innovative program that first began at Kolkata Airport in December 2024. The cafés have received excellent feedback, especially from common travelers, thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of the UDAN scheme, launched in 2016 to democratize air travel. With over 630 new routes added, millions of first-time flyers from lower-income backgrounds are now part of India’s aviation growth. Addressing concerns about high food prices at airports, the Minister announced budget-friendly menus: ₹10 water bottles, ₹10 tea, ₹20 coffee, and snacks like samosas or sweets at ₹20. The initiative will now be expanded step by step across airports nationwide
