GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man who was attending a service at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township when an ex-Marine crashed his pickup into the building and then opened fire, killing at least four people, said he has never been more scared.
Paul Kirby has attended church in the area for about six years. On Sunday, he said, testimony had just begun when something happened.
"That's when we hear a loud boom and the back wall of the chapel just buckles inwards. Everything shook," he told News 8 Monday, the day after the shooting. "Some people get up and panic and start heading for the parking lot. Some of us decided to go check on it because we thought it was just somebody who ran off the road and hit the building."
