COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M University is mourning the loss of one of its most cherished symbols. Miss Reveille IX , known as the “First Lady of Aggieland,” passed away in the early hours of Sept. 27 due to complications from pneumonia, according to a message shared by Lt. Gen. James W. Bierman Jr., commandant of the Corps of Cadets.

Reveille IX served as the university’s official mascot from May 2015 until her retirement in April 2021. She was cared for by the staff at the Stevenson Companion Animal Life-Care Center and the Texas A&M Small Animal Teaching Hospital.
