GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — Two people are facing burglary charges in Gibson County after deputies say they caught them in the act.

On Sunday evening, deputies were informed of ongoing burglaries at a home near Haubstadt.

After learning about the burglaries, deputies requested extra patrols of the residence.

Early Monday morning, authorities say they went to check on the residence and noticed a vehicle on the property and people inside the home.

Shortly after backup arrived on scene, two people inside the residence tried to flee out a window.

Authorities say they apprehended 53-year-old Homer Dersch and 33-year-old Katie Henderson. After a brief investigation, both were taken to the Gibson County Jail.

Dersch was charged with Burglary with a Deadly Weapon, and Henderson was charged
