TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - From ‘Trooper’s Law’, which creates tougher penalties for those who restrain dogs during natural disasters, to ‘Tristan’s Law’, which provides funding for various programs and initiatives aimed at diverting individuals with mental health issues away from the criminal justice system, more than two dozen new laws are taking effect on Oct. 1, 2025.
