ST. CLAIR COUNTY — Prosecutors charged a Belleville woman Monday in the stabbing death of 67-year-old Van T. Perry of East St. Louis.

Michelle A. Schultz, 38, was charged with first-degree murder.

Perry was stabbed at his home in the 6900 block of Church Lane. He was found dead on Friday morning, authorities said.

East St. Louis police asked the Illinois State Police to help with the homicide investigation.
