Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has not ruled out returning to the court this season after he suffered an Achilles tear during the Eastern Conference semifinals in May.

Tatum has been rehabbing from his injury for the last few months and provided an encouraging update on his recovery during Celtics media day on Monday.

“I’m in a really good spot. It’ll be five months tomorrow,” Tatum said, via WEEI’s Justin Turpin. “Being able to participate in a basketball workout was one of the more bright spots in this journey. Feeling like a basketball player again.”

Although Tatum appears to be making good progress, he emphasized that he feels no rush to come back this season.
