(FOX40.COM) — A $775,000 settlement was reached after an investigation led the District Attorneys to file a civil enforcement action alleging that Sephora USA improperly handled hazardous waste, according to the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office.

The case alleged that waste consisting of damaged, returned or expired items generated by Sephora's retail operations meets the definitions of hazardous or medical waste under California law and was improperly handled by the company.
The judgment was filed in Sacramento County Superior Court.
