KINGSTON, N.Y. — The Common Council race in Ward 9 will feature incumbent Democrat Michele Hirsch facing former mayoral and Ward-9 candidate Scott Denny, a registered Democrat running on the Kingston United party line.

Hirsch, who has served three terms representing Ward 9, will appear on the Democratic and Working Families lines.

A graduate of Goshen Central High School who lives on Brewster Street and works as a Family Peer Advocate, Hirsch is divorced and has two children ages 21 and 19. She has lived in the city for 11 years and in Ulster County for 13.

Hirsch said she’s running “to continue working towards an affordable Kingston for all.”
