LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The man accused of stabbing his wife to death earlier this month appeared in court Monday to answer to multiple charges.

The fatal stabbing happened on Sept. 14 . Police found a woman dead with her throat cut at her Valley Station home.

LMPD said on Sept. 27, they arrested Eugenio Santoya Sanchez and charged him with murder- domestic violence, strangulation, and tampering with physical evidence.

Police said they found surveillance video showing Santoya Sanchez coming home prior to the time he told investigators. Additionally, police say Santoya Sanchez was the only person and his was the only vehicle to stop at the home from the last time the victim was known to be alive until he later arrived on scene again and called 911.
