The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources have posted their first of several weekly projections for fall foliage across the state in 2025.
“Northern counties are already glowing with color,” read a post on the DCNR’s Facebook page sharing the projection. “Don’t wait too long, this year’s peak will come fast.”
The projection shows the predicted average color changes across each county in the state for the time between Sept. 25 and Oct. 1.
“Cool nights during late August and early September jumpstarted noticeable color changes throughout Penn’s Woods,” the DCNR website reads. “The long period of dry weather that accompanied the late summer cooldown has accelerated the transition to fall color across the Commonwealth.”
