A watchdog group has restricted the New Orleans Police Department's access to over 5,000 crime cameras across the city.

Project NOLA announced the decision after it said the city would not comply with the group's request not to share the video for entertainment purposes with television production companies. Advertisement

According to Project NOLA, the decision to revoke NOPD's access was an "unprecedented action" to protect the privacy of citizens and the dignity of murder victims.
