The gun of an unknown federal law enforcement officer fired accidentally at a youth soccer game this Saturday, triggering a police response but otherwise causing no harm to the game's attendees.

The game was organized by the YMCA of Greater Richmond at Holman Middle School in Glen Allen.

The incident was first reported by WTVR-TV on Saturday. A parent told the news station that the gunshot caused brief panic, leading attendees to run off the field.

Henrico police responded to the soccer game shortly afterwards. Police said the firearm "fell out of a spectator's bag and accidentally discharged." The police division stated that it was unable to disclose the name of the federal law enforcement agency for which the parent works.
