Kozhikode: A burglary took place at the residence of a doctor in Chevarmbalam, Kozhikode, where 45 sovereigns of gold ornaments were stolen in the early hours of Sunday.
According to Chevayur Police, the break-in occurred around 1:55 AM on Sunday. The house had been unoccupied since September 11, when Dr Gayathri left Kozhikode. The stolen gold was kept inside a cupboard and a table inside the house.

CCTV footage from the property shows a person checking the gate’s security before entering. The burglar first opened the gate, then forced entry through the front door to access the valuables.
