Police in Mwanza District have arrested Rhoda Samson, 27, on suspicion of stealing and selling 20 windows from a house she was staying in, allegedly to buy maize.

According to the district police spokesperson, Hope Kasakula, Ms. Samson sold the windows for K10,000 and used part of the money to purchase a bag of maize worth K7,500, despite the windows being valued at K90,000.

Ms. Samson was living in the house with her husband, while the rightful owners are currently residing in South Africa.

Rhoda Samson is expected to appear before court soon.
