**Title: DoorDash Driver Charged in Death of Canadian Golfer**

A DoorDash driver has been charged with first-degree reckless homicide in the shooting death of Canadian golfer Giovanni Michael Robinson. The incident occurred in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, where Robinson, 32, was on a golf trip with family members. He had recently become a father and celebrated his first hole-in-one just hours before the tragedy.

Luis Cruz-Burgos, 35, is accused of being the shooter. According to the criminal complaint, Robinson and his friends were trying to arrange a ride back to their hotel after a night of celebrating. They had difficulty securing a ride through rideshare apps and attempted to negotiate with Cruz-Burgos for transportation.

Witnesses reported that Cruz-Burgos initially asked for $60 per person, but later claimed he only wanted $40 total. The group declined to pay and opted to walk approximately five miles to their hotel in Kohler. Cruz-Burgos, who has been a DoorDash driver for about nine months, was identified by witnesses as the person they refused to pay.

CCTV footage captured the events leading up to the shooting. The group left the bar around midnight on September 24, and the shooting occurred shortly after, with Cruz-Burgos fleeing the scene in a black Ford Escape. Another witness reported seeing the vehicle slow down and fire a shot at Robinson's friend.

Cruz-Burgos has denied any wrongdoing, stating that he is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a 2019 court order from Florida related to a domestic incident.

In the wake of Robinson's death, a memorial has been established in downtown Sheboygan Falls. Community members have expressed their sorrow and desire for justice. "This makes me so sad. It just does. It makes me so sad," said Carla Van Ess, who left a handmade Canadian flag at the memorial. "I want to see that person go through the system, and if found guilty, be held accountable. People have to be held accountable."

Robinson died from a single gunshot wound at the scene. His family released a statement expressing gratitude to law enforcement for their swift action and to the community for their support. They acknowledged the kindness of local businesses and individuals who reached out during this difficult time. A GoFundMe campaign to assist the Robinson family has raised over $225,000.
