A Roxbury man allegedly broke into a convenience store and stuffed baseball cards and chocolates down his pants.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Boston police received a report of a man in a black hoodie and black jeans with graffiti markings attempting to break into Going Bananas at 65 Salem St.

Upon arrival at the scene, police identified a man matching the description crouching in front of the open door.

Elvin Clayton, 24, was seen stuffing the items down his pants and was arrested after attempting to walk away, police say.

A witness told police the suspect asked her if she had a screwdriver minutes before they arrived at the scene.
