The birthday of the 250-year-old U.S. Navy is coming. And the community in Kitsap County — home to the third largest Naval shore installations in the U.S. and many aircraft carriers and submarines — has started to celebrate the legacy of the sea power with gratitude for those who served.
On Friday, Sept. 26, leaders from the Navy, the Bremerton-Olympic Peninsula Council, U.S. Navy League, and community members gathered at the Puget Sound Navy Museum in Bremerton to celebrate the American Navy's 250th anniversary. Speakers highlighted the sacrifices made before, warriors who contributed to the legacy of the Navy, appreciation to those who serve, and confidence to carry the legacy into the future.
