BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) —The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) shared with drivers that the detour over Route 31 (Allegheny Road) has ended.

The detour was in place for a bridge replacement project near the intersection of Route 310 (Glade Pike) in Manns Choice and Harrison Township. Originally scheduled through the end of September, the 13-mile detour, which rerouted traffic using Route 96 (Shawnee Road/Hyndman Road) to Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) and Route 31 (Allegheny Road), was lifted on September 26.

The contractor on the over $1.6 million project did a bridge-structure replacement and traffic signal upgrades, minor roadway approach work, guide rail upgrades as needed, and other miscellaneous construction. The complete project is expected to be completed by Octo
