AUSTIN, Texas — Emotions are high across the city of Austin as its residents react to the news that police believe a nearly 34-year-old cold case has been solved .
On Friday, law enforcement confirmed that investigators have identified Robert Eugene Brashers as the man who killed Jennifer Harbison, Eliza Thomas, Sarah Harbison and Amy Ayers on Dec. 6, 1991. On Monday, city and Austin Police Department (APD) leaders walked the public through how investigators came to their conclusion.
As part of Monday's press conference , the families of the victims also gave statements, thanking the police department for their efforts to solve the crimes and thanking the community for their support over more than three decades without answers.
