FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Florence Police Department stated an off-duty officer was arrested Saturday.
According to the FPD, the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 disturbance call involving an off-duty Florence police officer and another person.
After an on-scene investigation and talking with witnesses, the FPD said the off-duty Florence Police officer, Evan Thornton, was arrested for alleged third-degree domestic violence.
Thornton was booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center and had a $5,000 bond.
The FPD said Thornton has been placed on administrative leave.
