WESTFIELD, Ind. — Westfield High School in Hamilton County is on lockdown due to an unverified report of someone "threatening to shoot people" on campus.

Westfield Police said in a statement Monday afternoon that the school administration received the unverified threat earlier in the day. Out of an abundance of caution, the school was placed on lockdown while officers searched and cleared the building.

As of 3 p.m., there have been no reports of shots fired and no injuries of any kind have been reported.

"We understand this is concerning to students, parents, and staff," Westfield PD said in a statement. "Please know that our officers are on scene and actively working to ensure the safety of everyone in the building."
