Six Waterbury fire cadets have resigned after they allegedly cheated on an emergency medical technician (EMT) exam, according to Mayor Paul Pernerewski.
The mayor said the exam was administered through a local ambulance company, and it's required to complete firefighter training.

“It is very disappointing that this situation occurred. Firefighters are held to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, and honesty is a fundamental part of serving our community," the statement reads.
There are currently 13 cadets enrolled in the training program. Following an internal investigation, the remaining seven cadets were cleared of any wrongdoing and were sworn in as probationary firefighters.
"While this is n
