Dade Middle School officials say they responded quickly after a student made a statement about potential school violence Monday.

According to Principal Rhonda Bradford, the school worked with the Trenton City Police Department and the Dade County Sheriff’s Office to ensure the safety of students and staff. As a result, the student involved was not allowed on campus on Monday.

Administrators said there is no immediate threat to the school community and that local law enforcement is continuing the investigation.
