Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson is at home recovering after a car crash.

According to Thompson's mother June "Mama June" Shannon, the "Toddlers & Tiaras" alum was T-boned while she was pulling out of her driveway in Denver, Colorado on the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 26.

"As she pulls out of her driveway, barely, going nothing, to get her hair done, somebody actually wasn't paying attention and T-boned her on her road," Shannon shared on social media. "They are always speeding on her road, but lucky enough the 23-year-old boy, I have to give him credit where credit is due, he admitted that he was going 40 miles an hour and probably wasn't paying attention."

As a result of the impact, Thompson was experiencing "back pain" and "headache issues," Shannon said. Thompson, a 20-year-old nursing student, wanted to power through the pain because she was scheduled to start clinical rotations the following day.

"But anyway, with that being said, Alana is fine," Shannon said. "She was hit on the driver's side of her car. It could've been a lot worse."

The Denver Police Department did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for comment.

Mama June Shannon shares update after car crash

In a Sept. 28 update, Shannon shared that her daughter was "very very very very lucky" to have walked away from the situation relatively unscathed.

According to Shannon, though her daughter is "off a little bit, she is eating, talking and spending time with the whole family, including a "taste test Saturday," which showed off Shannon's culinary skills.

Shannon, who said she is still trying to wrap her around what happened, also shared that Thompson "unfortunately" did not go to attend her first clinical rotation. Her priority, for the moment, is "just making sure Alana is good at the end of the day."

"I am very grateful that the young boy did say that he was speeding through there," Shannon said. "We love you guys. Thank y'all for all your thoughts and prayers. And I promise you I will give you updates on everything, very soon."
