WESTMORELAND, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- The Oneida County Health Department announced on Monday that another animal has tested positive for rabies in the county.
The Health Department announced on Monday, September 29, that positive results were reported on a fox by the State Department of Health's Wadsworth Center in Albany. Two people were exposed to the fox, both of whom received preventative measures
This is the fifth animal to test positive for rabies in Oneida County since August. Four bats have tested positive for rabies in the Utica area, including one in Whitestown and one in New Hartford.
