Starbucks is making it easier to hit your protein intake goals with a new lineup of drinks.
Beginning today, coffeehouses across the U.S. are offering protein lattes and cold foam drinks that deliver up to 36 grams of protein per grande (16-ounce) beverage.
For reference on exactly how much protein that is, the Recommended Dietary Allowance for protein is a .36 grams per pound of body weight per day, or about 54 grams per day for a person who weighs 150 pounds. However, that is a minimum recommendation. The USDA has a calculator that can help you determine your protein needs.
The extra protein punch in these new Starbucks beverages comes from whey protein-boosted milk and a variety of protein-infused cold foams, which can be added to nearly any beverage on the menu. Zero-sugar options
