ST. LOUIS — The League of Women Voters says the federal courts here are again allowing league volunteers to routinely register new U.S. citizens to vote after naturalization ceremonies inside the Eagleton Courthouse downtown.
Julie Gaebe, co-president of the league's St. Louis metro chapter, said Monday that Nathan Graves, the chief clerk of the U.S. District Court, had told her that "we are back to normal" regarding voter sign-ups inside the courthouse.
The court clerk's office has confirmed the move. Graves declined to comment further.
On Sept. 5, League volunteers were barred from setting up tables outside a ceremony inside the courthouse and instead had to stand on a sidewalk outside the building.
