CLAY COUNTY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Missouri driver has been charged after he allegedly caused a head-on crash that injured a woman and a child while he was drunk.

Clay County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Sunday, Sept. 28, indicate that Scott R. Mathis, 26, has been charged in connection with the DUI crash that injured 2 people.

A probable cause statement filed by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office revealed that around 6 p.m. on Saturday, emergency crews were called to the area of Highways C and W with reports of an injury crash.

When first responders arrived, they said they were told that the driver of a Ford F-150, identified as Mathis, appeared to be intoxicated. They learned that the pickup crossed the center line and hit a Kia Forte head-on.
