MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A man from Meigs County, Ohio, received the maximum prison sentence on Monday for fleeing from law enforcement in West Virginia, according to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office.
Robert N. Grover, 35, of Middleport, Ohio, received a one- to five-year prison sentence and a $1,000 fine.
Investigators said Grover was arrested last December after he sped away from Ohio law enforcement officers and then crossing the Mason/Pomeroy bridge into Mason County where speeds exceeded 100 mph. The chase went through the communities of Mason, Hartford and New Haven.
According to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office, Gomez was convicted of fleeing in a vehicle from law enforcement with reckless indifference.
