MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) – Swifties at Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue in Rockville are having a fundraiser to benefit some of its older dogs in anticipation of Taylor Swift's 12th album release this week.

Georgia Dodson co-founded Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue in 2021. Its mission is to find homes for senior dogs who were abused and neglected.

“The senior dogs are looked over in the shelters,” Dodson said. “No one, I think, goes in with the idea of a new dog expecting to just have it for a few years.”

Dodson said medical care for dogs waiting for adoption can be expensive—anywhere from $1,500 to $1,800. To offset the cost, her team members, who are huge fans of Taylor Swift, had an idea.

“They actually came to the co-director Jade, who manages our social media,” Dodson sai
