Tuition will no longer be a barrier for some students who hope to attend Lenoir-Rhyne University.
The university announced Monday that students in North Carolina and South Carolina whose families have an adjusted gross income of less than $100,000 will not have to pay tuition. The initiative will begin during the 2026-2027 school year and will apply to new full-time undergraduate first-year and transfer students.
"Full-tuition coverage with no loans, the ability for students to choose the school of their choice without any barriers at all," Lenoir-Rhyne University President Summer McGee said at a press conference about the tuition free program.
