LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The election season is coming up, and Texas voters will have the opportunity to decide on 17 proposed constitutional amendments.

Election Day is November 4th here in Texas, and while there are no candidates on the ballot, state officials are asking you, the people of Texas, to vote on 17 constitutional amendments for our state.

Among the propositions, Proposition 13 has received significant attention as it aims to increase the school tax exemption for homeowners. Historically, voter turnout is generally lower in elections that do not include candidates. However, Webb County Elections Administrator Jose Luis Castillo is hopeful for a change this year.
