[CEDAR FALLS, Iowa] — The University of Northern Iowa has officially launched its year-long 150th anniversary celebration as part of this year's homecoming week.

This morning, festivities began with the first ringing of the sesquicentennial bell.

At 1 p.m., the university hosted the grand opening of a dedicated 150th anniversary exhibit. This curated display highlights the university's history.

Located in Rod Library, the museum exhibit features rare artifacts, photographs, and stories. These exhibits showcase the university's evolution from its founding as a Civil War orphan's home to its present-day status.
