COVERT, Mich. — A nuclear-safety panel in Washington will soon have its third all-day meeting about the viability of allowing the Palisades nuclear plant in southwest Michigan to be put back into service.

The Oct. 10 meeting of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s advisory committee on reactor safeguards begins at 8:30 a.m. and is inside the agency’s national headquarters in Rockville, Md.
