The city of Toledo is not perfect, but perfection shouldn’t be the standard, progress should be, Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz said Monday.
That was the theme of the mayor’s first speech to the Rotary Club of Toledo since 2018, during his first term as mayor.
Now, Mr. Kapszukiewicz is seeking a third and final term. The Democratic incumbent will be on the November ballot against independent Roberto Torres.
But the mayor’s speech didn’t mention his opponent. Rather, he gave the Rotarians a snapshot of where the city is at today and where he would like to see it improve.
“Whatever ails Toledo didn’t happen overnight, so to fix these problems isn’t going to happen overnight either,” Mr. Kapszukiewicz said. “We are not perfect, but I think we are making progress.
