INDIANAPOLIS — An attack on a Mormon church in Michigan is the latest in violence targeting places of worship. It comes one month after two children were killed during Mass at the Church of the Annunciation in Minneapolis.

Carl Chinn, president of Faith Based Security Network , calls it the 19th mass murder at a faith-based organization in the U.S. He said the first happened in 1963 in Alabama at a Baptist church.

“In the 62 years since 1963, something has changed in our country,” Chinn said.

He believes all places of worship should have a safety and security plan in place. He calls it intervention capable security.
