PORTSMOUTH, N.H. —
A historic house at Strawbery Banke in Portsmouth has a new name.
The Yeaton-Walsh House has been renamed to the Yeaton-Welch House.

The original name came from errors in historic records, where Welch was mistakenly written as Walsh.
The new name honors Irish immigrants who lived in this home at 4 Mast Street after leaving Ireland during the Potato Famine of the 1840s.
