BELLWOOD, Pa. (WTAJ) — Bellwood-Antis School District has launched an investigation after inappropriate comments and noises were made toward a Tyrone player during a recent high school volleyball match.

The incident happened last week as students in the Bellwood student section directed the behavior at a Tyrone athlete while she was serving, according to district officials.

In a statement to families, school administrators expressed "sincere regret and concern over this behavior" and emphasized that it is not acceptable. They added that the delay in making the announcement was due to the time being taken to investigate the matter, including communication with Tyrone personnel and the affected player's family.
